SimCity 2000 is an amazing game, from whichever perspective you choose. The best how-to-build-a-city simulator continues with this fabulous game genre. All zones and buildings cost money to place except for some special items awarded at specific population levels. The player receives money from taxes on the "sims" who live in your city, bonds, or special ordinances. Other items that can be placed include amenities such as parks, zoos, stadiums and yacht clubs. You also zone for residential, comercial, industrial, and port districts. Items that can be placed by the player include: roads, schools, hospitals, police stations, fire stations, train stations, rail lines, power plants, special items when you reach a certain population, underground pipes for water, and subway stations and routes. This is an open-ended simulation game that does not have a specific "win" condition, though specialized scenarios are included with the package that do involve win conditions. Some items are "zoned" for specific use, while others are defined by the player. Schools, hospitals, universities, libraries, museums, parks, zoos, stadiums, marinas, prisons, and more are yours to build.Ī multi-level interface makes SimCity 2000 easy to control- but with added depth just below the surface, waiting 'til you're ready for it.You are placed in charge of a patch of land upon which you build the city of your dreams.
